Cha-Ami Aging Services
Our mission at Cha-Ami's Aging Services is to provide support for Japanese-American seniors and their caregivers while creating opportunities for cultural reconnection and preservation. We are just beginning our journey, but here are some of the ways we are working to fulfill our mission:
-
Services such as grocery delivery, chore assistance, and social visits through a network of volunteers.
-
Educational classes and materials for common concerns: health conditions, Medical Directives, long-term housing options, self-care for caregivers, etc.
-
Events designed to provide much-needed social interaction and intergenerational exchange.
-
Workshops, classes and clubs to facilitate the passing down of traditions and allow younger generations to reconnect (or connect for the first time!) with their cultural heritage.
To meet these goals, we need the support of our community. If you'd like to help us enrich lives, please fill out the Become a Volunteer form at the bottom of the page.
If you are a senior or caregiver in need of support, we want to help! You can call or text us at (612) 367-6591 or email our Aging Services Coordinator, Amy Saunders, at amy@cha-amijcc.org.
