Discover the art of Shodō (Japanese brush calligraphy), a practice that combines beauty, mindfulness, and tradition. This class introduces participants to the graceful strokes of Japanese characters using brush and ink. Class Details: When: 2nd and 4th Saturday of every month Time: 11:30 PM - 1:30 PM Duration: One hour of practice (choose your time slot within the two-hour window) Location: Cha-Ami Japanese Cultural Center 2855 Anthony Ln S, Suite B5 Saint Anthony, MN 55418 ***Take the elevator to level B, then at the end of hallway to your left*** Whether you are completely new to calligraphy or have some experience, this class is designed to help you develop skills step by step. Students will learn: *How to hold and control the brush *Basic stroke techniques *Writing simple kanji and kana characters *The meaning and expression behind each form Brush calligraphy is more than writing, it is an art of balance, rhythm, and meditation.
