We recently had a wonderful time at MarsCon, where we were invited to give a presentation about Japanese culture. It was a joy to meet the attendees.
Our session was held in a conference room with a projector, which allowed us to show photos of kimono, highlighting their beautiful patterns, styles, and cultural significance. We also talked about the differences between Geiko(Geisha), Maiko, and Oiran. The audience enjoyed seeing the artistry and elegance of traditional Japanese clothing.
We also introduced furoshiki, the versatile Japanese wrapping cloth. We hope that furoshiki becomes more widely known so it can help reduce waste, offering a practical and eco-friendly alternative for wrapping gifts or carrying items.
The room was full of engaging conversation and shared enthusiasm. It was wonderful to connect with others who already have an interest in Japanese culture and enjoy celebrating it together.
We are grateful to have been invited as speakers and had such a positive experience at MarsCon!
